Michael Gills

ULGA Type is a teeny-weeny type foundry run by Michael Gills and based near Norfolk in the East of England. ¶ I design a mixture of standalone display fonts and multi-weight typeface families. My typefaces are generally characterised by well-crafted designs with extensive European language support. Especially for my display fonts, I like to inject versatility into the designs, adding lots of alternatives, ligatures and symbols, sometimes with a pinch of quirkiness. ¶ Alongside type design, my work encompasses monogram & logo designs, custom font designs, hand lettering and a bit of calligraphy.
